Heading to Ender's parents tonight for a Thanksgiving dinner. We talked with Rein briefly a few times, when he was coming to pick or drop Eleese, and never saw Fayes. It could be interesting, having dinner with a Phillipino family in a seemingly richer neighborhood. They're in debt to their elbows, while we got about 50K$ saved at the moment.
There's a build of zod as of 2:19 this morning.
Drying the floor in the corolla. There's sponge under the carpet, dries very slowly. At least found some use for the silly Verizon, they keep sending me two thick phone directories every year, so I use them as a blotter. The next day I tear the twenty wet sheets and crack it open in a different place. It's two weeks after the hurricane now, and its still wet. In Nina's acura a little plant sprouted beneath the right seat.
It's two weeks, and still the fence around #7 is half down - it's holding on the corner, but the other end, by #6, is on the ground. Nobody even lifted the garbage can, it's also on the ground. It seems the #7 is empty.
Lena's making serious progress with her yoga. We're getting constantly amazed with what she can do with her limbs. And this is not in any athletic outfit, she actually got dressed to go out. Well, not an evening out, we just went to the mall and spent a whole hour in a book store. One of the two big ones still remaining as major chains. Don't remember what we were looking for. I was browsing the SF books area, and got generally disgusted with what I found, or rather didn't. They had no Greg Egan, as he wasn't in the stable of any of the major players here, and also a couple of other authors. But they had all the possible novelizations of Star dreck, Star wars, plus as much of space dedicated to Harry Potter, swords, dragons and that kind of shit. Whatever they think would sell. We ended up bying a few books, but I clearly don't remember what. Perhaps the Escher monography?
