The mayday being a state holiday, we bought the new hand pump on the day before, and I only mounted it on that day. The old pump simply broke somewhere on top, where the handle leans on the body, so the handle was now detached. The rest of it may be still okay, but doesn't do much if you can't pump it.

The potato row is strewn with hay - we have two huge piles of old hay, half rotten, though, as these were the bottom layers of the much larger stack; they'd (Zeki's son and his pals) have to take it out to the village dump, and having a chance to dump it just 100m away was more than welcome.

For some reason I couldn't finish it the same day, so there was more work on 2nd. If I remember correctly, there was trouble dismantling the cylinder below, as the old pump was non-standard, someone put the piston a whole meter below, pulled by a long rod, so it wasn't pumping it the regular way. The screws on that were just stubborn, but eventually I was more so.

Today we had Lena for her birthday (though it'll be on 7th, but she'd be working then), and dad brought yet another block of foam, aka cake from Brižita, spray painted... But okay, that's him. At least we had a proper lunch, with soup, pohovano chicken breast, russian salad (aka Olyivye) and cucumber salad, some black wine.

On 10th we had another try to unjungle the Čankovo, but it's a rainy spring, so this is an uphill battle. At least the peonies were in full blossom, looking really nice.

On 11th the buckle on the carrying strap of švorceniger finally gave up (i.e. lasted one season), so I improvised with wire. The grumfed-up* latch will outlast the mower.

On 17th we visited Lena. It was kind of rainy most of the time, and nice for a walk - the rain just stopped when we went for it - and I made a dozen good shots then. Ended up in Mercator (the new one) where she bought a vacuum cleaner. On our way out the sun burst into full shine, and I was seriously overdressed in denim jacket and, oh, I did have a hat too. Some of the shots ended up on suština, with lengthy comments.
