26-VIII-2010.

Two days ago we bought a set of pots. By the looks of it, came from detelina. Also some grates and special ladle for straining pastry and another to mash the potatoes. And, er, I remembered to take a shot of those lighters with a single slide projector in their base... a gadget if I ever saw one. I had a feeling they won't last, and sure enough by the end of the year they went away.

More messing with the Lab, SHET etc during the day.

In the evening, went for the Days of Beer. Which is a sort of sad thing, the local brewery being destroyed (financially, by the usual mechanisms of the so-called "transition"), their tradition since 1745 (twenty years before Guinness!) be damned. But we have this beer festival, which was made as a marketing gimmick for it.

We went to the city hall's garden, to have a few beers (dark Nikšić, no local beer available) and see The Frajle, a fine four-girl band with great voices and a good show. Lena was to meet Slavko about enrolling into a preparation course for the school of art, so we split. At the garden we met Blaža with his wife. He was a bit shocked and somewhat surprised to see us, he knew we were in the US (or he thought, like so many others, that we were in Canada). Grabbed a table, brought some beers, listened to the band, listened to each others' stories. Yes he's still running that little company with Brata, and they're doing fine except that the gov't keeps demanding impossible things, like fitting a 390 character report on a single sheet of paper using fixed length font (I guess an A3 dot-matrix printer, there must be a few of dl2400 still running), because they just invented three more columns.

I snuck out to meet some folks from ppp. Found just a couple, the girl who worked as waitress at the club owned by Mika Fišer, who spotted me few weeks ago when I dropped by to ask around where the offices of SBB were (when I was trying to establish an internet connection). Her husband is the reporter who called last week and tried to get an interview from the miracle unseen, someone who returned from America. I refused that, really didn't want any publicity. The country being poor as it is (or having a lot of poor, addicts, unemployed and all sorts of candidates for criminals) I didn't want our arrival advertised.

After the concert, found Lena at that same cafe, met Slavko again after so many years, took a cab home (that's when we met Tika, took his number). The beer was good.
