You can buy the same chinese junk as anywhere, and they will fall apart or lose the teflon or get warped or develop scratches on the inner surface where the food would stick and char. That's the same as in the US.
But, there's a different kind of frying pans, by a local factory, "Metalac". After a dozen years of frustration with all kinds of pans both here and in the US, we've found these to have survived a year of heavy use without a scratch. The food does stick a little (when using oil; not as much on pork fat), but it's easy to wash.
