I was getting bored, and decided to fall in love. There were several candidates, mostly from the class or the company at the corner. The N. which was already mentioned, also Miljka... but there's time.

On 11th I got into a relationship (mediated by common friends) with E... which made me happy for a while. Not that it ever amounted to anything, but still, she agreed, which meant something.

Someone's silly joke: „does a smoking crab* get a man on its lungs?“

At school we just went overboard with doodling on the desks, specially me, because I didn't share my desk with anyone, so I made one circle, drawn by someone before me, into an iris, then the whole eye, then turned it into a whole half-portrait, only the left side of the face, the desk's edge going across the middle of the brow, nose, lip and chin. I think I actually wanted to draw Rencika, but along the way I understood that I wouldn't quite do her justice, so amid the upper half I gave up on the female likeness and went on with male. She wore her hair short that year, with a wider bit covering temples and the part between the ear and the eye, which is how most of us tried to imitate, regardless of gender, that's how the short hair looked that year.

Ivka once noticed that the desks are just overly scribbled over, so instead of her regular classmaster class she set up a sandpaper class, with the remark that „if you scribble again, you'll sand it again“. For two hours we were all dusty, but the desks eventually came out clean. Not that we completely stopped with this kind of graffitti, but we did it small, just as much as to be possible to blame the kids from the other shift.
