Just photographs, I got nothing more to remember this by.
Dad's sisters visiting - tetka and R. (Jara's mother). Judging by the landscape, this is the park at šećerana. The tiny bit of structure visible in the far right is that kiosk by its gate. Judging by the looks of trees, this is either late march or early april. Probably the former, seeing how they all wear winter coats. Dad's coat is interesting in how our industry imitated the Hollywood looks - the wide lapels, and shoulders oversized by about a hand's breadth. The lapels could probably be turned up but I don't remember seeing anyone buttoning them up, a shawl was sort of a mandatory fashion statement.
They'd stay for a few days. I guess they took a bus, Lasta had hourly lines and the road was okay for the times - cobbled most of the way, but that's the small cobble of 10x10cm, more or less flat on top, so a speed of 60km/h was regular. It was noisy, though. The norm then was probably two hours for the 70km; in my memory, when I took that bus, it was already only 90 minutes, but then the road was mostly under asphalt, and it took the bus almost half an hour to drive through downtown, around Kalemegdan, to the Pančevački bridge.
They could have taken the train, but there was no connecting ride to the eastward Dunav station, so it was a walking over the Terazije ridge, about 2km up and down, and then they'd have to get a train to Pančevo, wait for a layover there, then wait for the train from Novi to connect with in Orlovat - could take 3-4 hours.
