So I was at home, enjoying my extraordinary leave (thus not having to use up my regular ten day leave, will save that for later). I have no idea what we did these nine or ten days, except at night. Where did we go? For sure we visited oma, and possibly went out one evening with Mire, Baja and their wives, perhaps Deks and Lena too, I remember some wink wink remarks about the earthquake the first night. Though, something of the kind did happen, though only two or three hours later, when the big flowerpot, which hung in a makrame cradle, fell. The cradle was oma's handwork, she was into those knots for a while, we had a few items of the kind around. This one was hung in the place where the chandelier used to be, as we preferred not to have one central light - in the room the main lights were the desk lamp and the old red one over the bed (as seen on the picture), and in the kitchen there was one above the table and a neon bar, hidden behind the sheating, above the sound system. Now the question is why did this fall. Probably the hook, as it was screwed in the slat, unwound gradually, and its hole also got wider as the slat dried. But it just picked the right time to fall. Luckily, Go didn't wake up, and we quickly understood what happened and made no fuss about it.

This was, obviously, shot later. We didn't try to hang it up again, primarily because the pot shattered and it took us some trouble to clean up the spilled soil. It would be in front of the coffee table, roughly above the bean bag chair.

What else do I remember? Sunday morning, breakfast, for a czar. I counted seven dairy products on the table - butter, kajmak, two kinds of cheese, yogurt, molten cheese spread and milk for the coffee (and I'm sure I misremembered one of them, doesn't matter). Fuckit, this is civilization.

And we went to the swimming pool. Remember it mostly by photos, or I'd have thought it was next winter. Once there, I don't know whether she recognized me before I spoke, but I did her: Đica. Face same as it was, just as slightly confused and withdrawn just like some ten years ago, but in body... not quite double, but not missing much. Nothing, just greeted each other, couple of sentences and ciao. Then didn't see her the next forty years, at least.

In the background, through the glass, the open pool is seen, and behind the novogradnja there's the crossing where the road to Čurda leaves.

Go got used to the water, enjoys it. We were, of course, in the kids' pool. We took turns to go to the adult pool, next to this. We had to carry a blowdryer, usually. Maybe not this time - my hairdo was military and they had some headwear, but generally it was a good idea, specially when it was below 10° outside.
