Arpi told how his co-worker talks about "a foreign investor" who bought a house in Klincaid. After checking a few details, he just said "that's my sister". The guy has an orchard on the other end of the village (and across the river), which is about four blocks from the house. Eight by 200 meters, all plums, walnuts plus some other I forgot. Offers for 300€. For such pittance, we may just take it. Should bear at least a ton of fruit.
Ordered that nokla E5 phone today for Lena. If she doesn't like it, she goes back to her old E71. Decided against E72 because it's practically the same, save for a couple of features which aren't that important, yet it costs 100€ more.
For once, money isn't the problem, but then we don't feel like behaving like drunken barons. If we decide we need or just want something, we buy it - even euros are getting an inflation, the banks can go bust anytime, so we may be crazy for saving - but we are still far from pathological forms of consumption.
So I finally got my ass away from the keyboard (having worked the whole weekend on that conversion, stayed online until 2am last night), put my bike under it and hat on my head, went to city to buy some euros (for Lena's rent), see what insuckers (i.e. vacuum cleaners) are offered and to visit my parents. A rare pleasure: bought half of the long bread (dark, rye, at least a meter long), put it in the tote hanging on the handlebar, with the cut end up, then pinched it, fresh and soft, with the crust cracking. Perfect. Smell, texture, taste, the experience. And bought a bunch of drymeats, i.e. sausages, bacon (multistorey, i.e. a row of bacon, row of meat, row of bacon, row of meat*), švargla, and whatnot. That's probably when I found promes.
The conversion wasn't exactly finished. Had another couple of hours with Suez online, got it all to work in the end. Finished by midnight, amazing.
Nothing new on the west front. Last night Nina was dripping something into Chu's mouth from an injection (no syringe), watched that on skype. Got screenshots.
