all right, we know now, so what about it

When the recorded sound ceased, another unpleasant silence took place. They just sat and thought. The problem was clear: how to find volunteers for the humiliating task of machine maintenance. Who'd abandon the privacy for the sake of common wealth, when the wealth could be achieved by simply going to another city. And they didn't need too many people - how could the old lady do it alone. Why me then. Here, I've began writing an extrantastic peace just yesterday.

They left in silence. Later, the psytronicians said that the fear of the unknown has passed and... they always have some explanation.

Three persons sat by the screen, in a room deep below the generator which supplied the city with electricity. They drank wine. Real.

-Good you have stopped her. I have just two disks of text left. How does it appear to you?

-Better than my tirade "grab yourselves by the ears and dance". Morbid, am I? Must have scared the poor councillors dead. Those two don't seem to worry much; with their skills they'll go nice anywhere, but we should see reaction around town. If they panic, we may set it all back the way it was and move them out slowly, exchanging for new ones, or make more panic and wait for their instinct to trigger.

-And if it doesn't?

-Who's morbid now? In that case let them run all ways, and we exchange with our buddies. You know the routine, whenever a cabin can't understand, send here. Before that, let's see the details. Should I "kill" the old lady?

-Mandatory! The girl almost read her through. If she starts thinking it over, she'll know someone bundled her a robot.

-Don't be naive. When did she see a robot? We don't let them up.

-And when did she see the room? Still, they found it. I don't know who's naive here. But, hear, what do you say about sending coded messages to some candidates. A few logical games may attract the gifted. Maybe we could resurrect chess?
