The allegedly thirday (triple birthday) - way beyond it's real date. It's between two and three weeks late and we did this just as a simple sunday lunch. Dad asked whether Stanley has put the kokarda on his šajkača, which he did right now (two pictures taken). Dad insisted that he looks just like that guy who plays Draža on the series "Ravna Gora" (which is the romanticized bullshit about the whole četnik movement, and completely ignores the history, their self-documented collaboration with nazi Germany and fascist Italy etc etc). He keeps forgetting that we don't have a tv, don't want to have a tv and even if we did we wouldn't be watching that. He's such a believer... he believed, then not believed, lived to the last detail the communist story, and then became just the opposite, without ever offering a single word of explanation or appology. I'm gradually losing patience. He's an old man, 85 now, and I don't plan to ever ask him anything about that - it's largely irrelevant - but there are limits to how far I may indulge his just as completely blind belief in the current batch of propaganda.

And he forgot to get the cake. He used to get the cake for each birthday, as it's on his insistence that we're marking each one, but the lady who makes them kept on putting more and more of the fake cream, 2mm layer of some marmalade-like substance instead of real fruit, more spray dye instead of real chocolate, emulsifier crap instead of real chocolate, and generally more and more fluff. We just dropped the bullshit and started making the cakes since Lena's birthday last year (that was the last one, which we mostly dumped into the garbage, most of it was barely edible). This time, no cake.

The weather was still hot, so we mostly sat outside around that table under the big walnut. Violet looked great in her new dress. While there are toddlers in the house, we don't smoke inside (no matter that we lived in a far smaller space when the girls were of that age, and we smoked in there all the time and nobody had any problems).

Sent pkzip25.exe, the last original from Phil Katz, to Marinko, because whatever he was using had some memory problems. Also found the html help file for it and sent that too - it contains the full syntax, which is richer and in some cases different from what 2.1 was using.

Insufficient memory is available to process the .ZIP file. Try making more memory available to PKZIP. If this does not rectify the problem then the .ZIP file might be corrupted and PKZIPFIX should be used to fix the .ZIP file. If you are creating a new .ZIP file and receive this message, it is due to an attempt to ZIP a large number of files. Reduce the scope of your command and try again. If you are using a LIST file in your PKZIP command you may be receiving this error because the LIST file is too large. See "List Files" for more information.
