26-VIII-2016.

This morning zmajček just wouldn't. I did manage to get the fresh stats to sGradlj.com written down (a little fox routine, statcounter.prg) but gdi+ wouldn't display the monthly prediction graph. Said some dll was bad, no entry point. Looked it up in TotalCmd, it's there but it's not an executable. Found three other copies in other windows directories, one identical (with some funny garbage in it), the others just wouldn't copy because it's a protected one. Nice, protection served it well.

Ok, then reboot. Nope, won't boot at all and it can't find its boot disk - because it's on the 2nd, the first one's boot sector is owned by Ubuntu/grub2. Reinstall...? Oh no, not again. Actually, I'll create a bootable flash... but the one I have is taken by a bootable Ubuntu. So... off to the shop where Nena works and buy an SSD and a flash (i.e. USB memory stick, aka fleška).

Windows just won't install. It's complaining about missing a driver (for a CD or DVD). Unplug the thing. Still complaining about the drive. Unhooking the SSD. Now it wants to install, but what the fuck - I want to install it ON the SSD... for which it doesn't have a driver. SanDisk doesn't even provide one, you have to run its app to clone a C: with the system to it, and then it would boot. So... no straight path, only migration? Well, fuck you all, m$ first and last. I'll create you as a virtual box inside Ubuntu.

Except I can't. It (the windows 7 setup, which did run from a flash) has fucked up the MBR of the first disk. Never mind, get a new Ubuntu (16.04, i.e. april 2016), install. Incredibly, as soon as I run or install any of the apps I had before, it knows my previous settings, even remembers solitaire stats (I play two deck Spider a lot) - of course, the /home directory and everything beneath it is on a different partition, no crash touches that.

Copied the 140G of photos to this home partition, just in case.
