My SSD on zmajček is getting lost at times. Found the error in the event log, googled it out, and it turns out that, to save power, the windows just turns it off at times, and then can't turn it on again until reboot, because the m$ morons from Redmond fucked up something in the protocol and the deaf fools from Intel don't understand the request to wake it up. Though, later it occurred to me that this worked fine for three years, so what now.

At boot time, however, I have to set it as the primary boot device, because during the time it was off the hook, the BIOs somehow got refreshed with current disks only... a mess, generally.

So, go to the control panel and turn that power saving off. Not for SSD, please, it doesn't have a motor. Control panel doesn't work. More googling. Two hours, altogether. The control panel error ({26EE0668-A00A-44D7-9371-BEB064C98683} Server execution failed) is caused by... a missing system directory. Actually, some of the directories I set up is not there, and it's considered a system directory. Sure enough, the entry in the registry says n:\dox, and that was at least one motherboard ago. Meanwhile I switched back to having all my work stuff on the q: drive. Change the entry to q:\dox (which is where "My documents" false directory points to), reboot and it works.

So it means that the whole fucking control panel stops working because "My documents" directory doesn't exist. Wow. If my app was so sensitive that it doesn't even launch (and keeps mum like shit in the grass), my phone would melt from ceaseless ringing, I'd be instutionalized and wouldn't even have enough cash to subscribe to burundi*.

How did I manage to work for two months without noticing this? Well, I don't use that explorator of documents (neé explorator of windows) at all - got my TotalCmd, Launchy, bbLean, so I don't need it. Except for the control panel, which I also didn't need until now, to fix the bad deal between them and Intel.

In other places... dealing with some details with Kees, some stuff with Bruce (re FedsRx, i.e. yet another meeting with a guy from CopyRx about it, which I prefer to cancel, as I got some style issues to solve before I can show what I wanted to).

This time we had an internal meeting with our Q&A and, well, there was a number of things that I need to do to conform to our own guidelines, style, ease of use etc. The major flaw found was that the status of a prescription is unknown until a call to update_notification_count is made (and it may not be made for quite a while, depending on the users' habits), so I'm also implementing update_prescription_status, to be called on each logout or manual refresh, so the current patient's prescriptions' status will be retrieved. Also the three labels, as seen on the last screenshot, representing the prescription, allergies/medications and pharmacy are replaced with a HTML representation of the same content, just to emphasize the important parts. Plus a number of smaller improvements in the surrounding GUI, so let's skip the tomorrow. This, of course, is not related to any ongoing conversations you may have with Bruce, just skipping tomorrow. Tx

On the rasejani mailing list, someone posted a pic of "Bitef Art Cafe" - the joint's logo was shining in all uppercase and no spacing, so it can be equally read as "bite fart cafe".
