Today I was busy with IVLife conversion and got a “are you joining, there's an issue there I need you to comment on” from Laura. Instead of discussing the merits of the case, she grilled me again over the fix I did (progress notes import misbehaving in Feds 6.0.5) and the comment that I wrote afterwards, again because I did it, it seems, prematurely and in the case which wasn’t assigned to me yet. I said I get this nagging feeling, after I get nine or eleven emails about something, that I am obliged to finally fix it because people are yelling at me – that’s how getting emails feels like – and then when I do that it turns out that I shouln’t have. After some yelling I left the meeting.

Her being unable to separate things, to track ten or fifteen issues, which usually go into one build, separately from those in the previous or next build, should be her private problem. The time of a build is known, and anything that was done before it is in it, what was after is not, so how hard can the separation be? But no, she has to write a document for the customers about each build, and it's too hard for her to go through all the cases in the build in Jira, doing a wheel click or rightclick-open in new tab, it's too technical for her. In her view it's better that we do nothing than to do it faster than she is capable of tracking. Alright, deal, this is only the fourth time that I get rubbed for this, and nobody moved a finger to stop her, none of her noise was revoked, alright, I'm sold on the matter. Now even if the house was burning I will not lift a finger unless there's a case in Jira clearly assigned to me. If there's nothing there, I'm taking a nap.

Chatted with Nina and the kids (Ender didn't show up) in the evening, and Lena. Skype was acting up again, so the pictures it produced were rather small this time, so it goes when m$ goes on fixing what wasn't broken. Lena was making dinner, at around 23 in the evening. The situation at their jobs was becoming a real triper, the exit strategies were already under consideration. There was still a lot of money there, the investors from abroad were still willing, it's that the many managerial positions were filled with pals, who played favorites with this or that guy/gal, so you had to be really bad to get kicked out if you were good with them, or reeeeally good to get promoted if you weren't. She was promised a position of a lead, which still didn't materialize. Not because you guys are a couple working together, but... people would say this or that if we did... bla bla, nothing. For months. "And we can't even offer you a raise, you're already maxed out."
