Lena and I visiting my folks, winter evening. Dropped by, this time, Spajz. They used to be „Bio špajz“, then „Bio _špajiz“, now only „Spajz“. It all depends on how illiterate their designer at the time is.

This is behind once bager, some kind of agricultural pharmacy, as they call them here, an outfit with seeds, poisons and other gardening needs. I sort of remember that the lady who owns it is coupled with one of Paja's sons, though don't remember in which manner. Well, it's just 200m as the crow flies.

When we got there, I had icicles in my beard. There was a nice layer of snow on everything. Someone posted a reading of the famous text, allegedly from a Bosnian in Canada, who goes from „how beautiful this snow is“ to calling it „white shit“ and the snowplough „grtalica“ - which was a new word then, and now everyone knows it. The voice was that of Goran Sultanović, an actor of decent fame in the 70s-90s, who brought it maestrally.

With Suez, on NHS member clinics: „the doctors' combo in the relations page is being repopulated whenever the page is activated (which is before and after our search form is shown), which takes a bloody forever or two, because there's about 60000 GPs there.“ ...it's generally the add-on that I began working on, for clinics in the NHS system, so their pick of doctors would involve a search form, because they'd keep getting this updated list over and over, practically all of the UK's registered doctors and how are they possibly involved with the patient through NHS and maybe other insurances. Sounded complicated, but it ended up being a neat feature, and it would open only for those who'd need it, no setup involved, nothing to adjust anywhere, it just worked.

In Belgrade, some mafioso's brand new Audi was poked through with seven brand new pickaxes, and the picture is now dancing its fifth round all over the web. Some hardware shop just experienced a huge spike in pickaxe sales.

On the other side, Ender bought a white Porsche coupe (as if they ever buit sedans or station wagons). He and Nina made some thirty shots, what of the car, or of themselves on the boardwalk. Nice, nobody there, just them and the lights. She's big upfront, quite.

Next day he was selling the Matrix on Craig's.

Next day, some snafu with primary key names in Feds. We're rolling our own, not relying on database's automation, so each key has a named counter. Now there's a field named ins_pk in two tables - inseminations and insurances... so the default naming doesn't work, one of them has to have a name different from the key field, and I picked the wrong one. The mistake got nowhere, Jan spotted it while it was still not in any build. He has this special talent to name things in an ambiguous way - for instance, three tables have a SemenId field, and it has a different meaning and domain in each case (once it means the id of the donor, once the retrieval method, once the sample id).

On 27th, George went on at lengths about new stuff in jQuery, and how we're going to use it in the Feds portal to gain lots of speed and be really slick.

With njalter, about cyrillic typewriters and how young activists in 1946 came to Desanka Maksimović to confiscate hers, but shat in their pants when they heard whom she dialed, and just left.
