Finally got fed with the right monitor. For months now it would go blank after waking up. Not quite blank, it went gray, then would grow whiter spots in the middle, which would grow, coalesce and eventually cover the whole 1440x900 (actually, 900x1440, I keep that one vertical). Then I'd have to soft-turn it off then on, and it would show.

Except that since yesterday it doesn't report to the video card. It's now an anonymous monitor, and doesn't report its native resolution. Had to go with 1182x820 or some such, which inexplicably looked nicer, but gave me little space.

So I took Lena's spare monitor, which flickers a lot, and mounted it instead (unscrew, screw). It worked, its native resolution, same as that of my left monitor, showed up, all nice. Until the lunch break, when it was switched off by screen saver. Then it wouldn't switch on again, no matter what I tried. Not even the onscreen menu would. And I couldn't even email or skype anyone because all my communications are on the right monitor, and couldn't find them to grab the handle and drag them to the left.

So the two of us took a bus and went downtown. Took a few shots with the new nokla, even tried a bit of video. Went to Nena and took a new cheap big 22.5" 1920x1080 monitor... and an UPS. For a couple of months now we had these power breaks. Not really breaks, it's that our FID safety switch would react to something, and would switch the whole house off. Which meant I had to reboot every morning around 9, sometimes twice, once as much as five times.

Took a cab home, carrying two boxes. Took the rest of the afternoon to put cables together. Haven't rebooted for days after this. (... 136 words...)

Just for kicks, made this animation out of skype shots. Ender is in the back.

First SMS messages started flowing, mostly from Lena, like „it's good tat you turned predictive text of because you'd get some funy combinations - once instead of "laku noc" (good nigt) I sent "lake nocturnal" :P“ [I got tat in haircut latin, translated in haircut englis]
