Curfew is now 17:00 to 05:00. Lidl closes at 15:00. Nina somehow managed to get the girls to sleep, and I managed to explain to Raja and Violet that if they wake up the girls, we can't go shopping. If we don't go shopping, we'll run out of chipsy and coke and other stuff they prefer, so we'll all eat what we have. The choice is theirs.

They went silent for a couple of minutes, but it couldn't last. Then I declared that I admire Raja's courage to finally leave chips and stuff and switch to bacon... which scared him. But OK, we eventually got into the car. The reason for the delay was, this time, that Nina lost her purse (found it on her bed after return) and went around looking for it, including in the van. She still had her phone, and the shopping list was on it.

So we got pretty much everything. Didn't find bananas - the last bunch from the box just vanished as I was coming to it, and they don't have enough shell stockers because the cashiers are working in twice the usual numbers. The customers will forgive a few items missing, but staying in queue as short as possible is essential. Found practically everything except flour (bought it at Persu the next day, then 4kg more at Lidl next time), bottled water (they had 6x1,5 liter of Rosa, but that company had close ties to Sloba's wife, so no - bought that at Persu too), and macaroni for gulaš (but they had six types of spaghetti and four of tortellini). They're a bit short on shelf stackers, because they keep many more cash registers open - 6 of 8 when we came to it - than usual, so to minimize the contact. Next time when I came alone (for just a few items), the cashiers had nice SF helmets, with bright nice yellow stripe of plastic on top and clear plastic covering the face at some distance, something one would expect the stewardesses in a villain's spaceship to wear in a James Bond movie in the sixties. We also bought a new showerhead - the old one was just fine, but the bolt attaching the hose to it was cheap plastic and it broke. Also bought an attachment for the faucets, with three LEDs, powered by water. Ahem, yes, I just wonder whether it has any moving parts - and it sure has. I can power it by just holding it against my mouth and blowing air through it, and I sense something vibrating inside. So it's a little turbine.

And that's it - we bought just about anything we could think of. The waffle maker with exchangeable molds (the old one can make only waffles); two oven pans (so we can bake/roast two things together); four molds for bread (she cultivated fresh yeast last night, just like she started doing in 2012, should be ready in 4-5 days); more diapers; turkey drumsticks; frozen fries, peas and turkey nuggets; three packs of german butter (for the cake - called Prleski this morning, the guy recognized me by voice, and said no can do, shop closed until further, maybe in a week or two he'll be allowed to take orders, no sitting for sure).

The weather turned nasty. It was -2 this morning, adios apricots. The blossom doesn't look scorched yet, but that doesn't mean much. Snow in the evening. Well fuck this kind of winter which begins in spring.

The red line on the second shot is the tension band, with which I pulled the branch to grow more upright, my humble attempt at bonsai (and it worked). Such bands are used to tighten the load on trucks. Two months later I was looking at it when it just broke apart, unraveled where it connected to its buckle. I repeat, such bands are used to tighten the load on trucks. Well fuck that.
