02-VII-2000.

To the lake again. Took the season ticket this time.

Sat on the porch with the new camera, long zoom lens from the old Lindenblatt and a little stand made out of lego cubes, and took shots off the old negatives we brought along. Focusing didn't go that bad at all, although balancing the colors took ten years to get done, in Gimp. Also, on many shots the corners got darker.

Go was at the PVCC, took some pics with her Georgian friend (nice lady, on the pics). This means I had to drive her there and back, probably leaving work an hour earlier. This could be the day when we had trouble coming back, because the windows were foggy from outside when AC was on, or inside when it wasn't. The Corolla just wouldn't blow straight on the windshield (later fixed so that it won't blow anywhere else). Much later I found out a trick to turn the AC slightly on, then off. It took us twice the time to come home.

Actually, on this day we all got in the car and drove up the hill to that apple orchard where Emmy took us before (v. 10-IX-1999.) and watched the Fighter's day* fireworks. That's when I understood on which day the Smoky mountains were named.

On seventh, I decided to lose some weight again, the same way - acupuncture, like ten years ago. She had brought enough needles, and for sterilization used the oven - after recalculating the bloody Fahrenheit into human units. Don't remember how much I lost, but that relaxed feeling felt heavenly. I can't possibly lie on my back and doze off, I have to turn, I usually sleep on my right side - except under needles. I breathe deeply, relax all muscles, incredible.

Don't know even whether we went through all the twenty sessions, I guess we gave up after six or eight, but it was still worth it. Felt better. Not that I felt bad before, just didn't know that it can get better. And it did.

* 4th of july 1941. was the day when the then communist party of Yugoslavia decided to start a general uprising against the occupation, that's the Fighter's day. Glad that it's celebrated in the US too.
