After a long series of crashes and things generally going haywire, I gave up on trying to keep Windows XP on zmajček. Went to one of Firriver's servers and took a (MSDN, therefore prepaid) couple of ISO files with W2003R2 installation. Going 64-bit... and I'm not 64 yet. Got my first 32-bit machine when I was 32 - the Vaha.
Tried to pay for the TotalCmd, finally, that I'm using for free since 2001... and only now that I'm writing this, I noticed that the gmail address I used doesn't connect to paypal. And I thought Ghisler's middlemen were incapable of sending an invoice. OK, will try later. (which I did, a couple of weeks later, so I had a registered version now, used it until 2019)
Zyanna sent me an invitation to listen to her & the band on the WAMU radio... well, in case they have a web channel... which I didn't check and we had a nice family evening instead. Even let Johan in for a bit. He's grown nice luxury fur, tail almost as rich as squirrel's.
Later in the evening, took mom to the hospital - neighbors called, I took a cab, took her there, they gave her a couple of shots. Took dad's cell phone so I could call a cab home. She refused to stay there. They basically gave her a booster shot of lassix, and once she got home, made a number of tours to the bathroom. Her lower legs were getting seriously swollen.
