Čuta (Svetislav Majević)

(Person, Yugoslavia)

Guess an economist, fuckmeifIknow. He was a director in stambena at the time I started my first tezga there, in 1986. That's where I got to know him better. Then he appeared in a couple of places, when we were typesetting that guide, he was canvassing the sponsors, i.e. grabbing them privatniks from USP to advertise in the book.

Um, not quite so, someone else was the director then, but that guy had a stroke so this one jumped in, and that didn't last, because he soon reappeared in USP.

He was relatively young for a director, but guess he came across as serious, so bald and bespectacled, suit tie and managerial manners. By 1990 he was already prone to drift away amid conversation, „you guys have no idea what a mighty thing you have in your hands, you could be the main men if you only...“. Now who knows what scheme he had in mind, which mumbo jumbo and squeezing money out of the data or whatever, thanks verily muchly. If we didn't have a codex in the guild, not having a guild in the first place, we stuck to it as if we did have it. Small is the city, name needs to be made and then kept.

The last thing I know about him was that he got far into drinking, and in USP they mostly never knew where he was, at which table he'd be spending his working hours, it's an association, members drop by, business needs to be talked over...
