To Hungary again, over Bački Breg... wrapping up the stuff for Ileš. I see there was something written for him the next day.
I see there was some work on HosTract in the afternoon, but then maybe it wasn't me who did it.
Around this time we surrendered the big old cherry, the one we two planted in spring of 1976. Granma declared that she can't sweep the leaves anymore. Well who's forcing her to sweep it, let it lay, what's wrong with having leaves on the ground. Out of the question, she won't allow it looking so. Well who cares how it looks, it's there in the back, nobody goes there, nobody sees it. But no, she stubbornly demanded that we take it out. So what could I do, took a saw and started cutting it, top down. It took me several days, and I was quite dead tired, but got it done. I cut 30cm pieces, for fuel. I hauled it home in batches, in trabant's trunk. It stayed in the garage, to dry for the next winter. I tried to split one piece, but it was so dense and hard that the axe stuck in it, couldn't move it deeper nor take it out. I solved it later by driving spikes in, and eventually extracted the axe.
Too bad, it was a beautiful cherry.
