05-V-2012.

At 6:00 the guests started arriving, mostly friends from work and neighbors and the children's (i.e. Silvija and Boba's) friends. There were the usual two guys with accordions, trays with salty pastry to carry (something to nibble on the trip), various bottles of brandy, a neighbor with a professional video gear, and very nice weather.

The trip took some five hours, with two 20-minute breaks, in Kovin and Golubac, made bunch of good photos there. Lena simply had to try out her wall climbing skills, she's into that this year, she even bought climber sneakers. I guess that Velinka dragged her into that.

Another 5-minute break a few km before Kladovo, to decorate the bus. The bus was already decorated slightly, but doing full trim before the trip would be futile, the wind would shred it.

Then everybody get into the hotel. There were two rooms rent for the day, in case any kids need a nap. But first, these were used so everyone can change from trip clothes into something less comfortable. I was still using those trousers I bought for that San Francisco trip.

Kladovo being a small place, everything is near - the city hall is a block away from the hotel, and the church half a block in the other direction. The locals mingled up with the guests really fine. The kum, an old friend of Dragan, is a nice looking son of a rich guy, who is probably the serbian Enron - got rich investing in electricity from Romania and Bulgaria and possibly other neighbors, then selling it to the state grid at nice prices when they're in a crunch. Somehow I can't stand the guy, one of those who look worse when they smile. Could be because of his industrially equal teeth. His mom looked familiar, like one colleague who told a sexy joke back in Gorica - equally being just a couple of kilos to swim over from plump into fat pool - but no, checked.

Lena had trouble with food. As usual, the waiters don't know the difference between vegetarian and fasting (the latter being the church's version of kosher-like rules) so she had her dish replaced... with a worse one.

The music was just as bad as at the last wedding, but at least the sound was clear. Not sure that that was actually good. The girlie singers wore high heels and dopičnjaks, and I think they went into some corner to sit out their breaks.

The AC couldn't serve so many people, regardless of the size of the space, so we went down to the banks of Danube several times, once even ordered a coffee, to catch some air and cool off.

The total effect was that we drank an unknown amount (my guess is 3-4 shots of brandy and at least two normal, 0,5l, beers) and didn't get a bit drunk. Zilch. I even took a shot of the beer's label (Zaječarsko), it did say 4,7%(vol), just didn't work. This is the first in a string of Arpi's parties producing such effect. On both of us, we practically always drink equal amounts (with some allowance for me being heavier).

I made about 200 photos, mostly good, including this autopatch with people moving around, just had to try how that would work. Good light... The bus parted around midnight.
