24th we went to Čankovo, she planted her tomatoes. I was hauling soil - finally flattening the heap of former rotten hay in front of the destillery, and seeing some of that concrete paving again, after so many years. I first used the soil to make bridges, or rather fords, over the sideways ditches in the orchard, which we dug nine years ago. So now I have a straight path to push the wheelbarrow. On the way back I was bringing the wood I cut... carpented :) previously. The heap of firewood for the still was getting seriously thin last summer, now it's almost half of what it once was. But I haven't touched the big stuff that the majstors have cut this winter when they were putting up the fence. Several accacia trees were growing right on the border. There's still more to cut.

I was trimming the edges of the lawn under the apple in the middle yard, when my hedge trimmer add-on caught a piece of fence. It usually cuts wire and the sisal thread and most of such shit, but this was some serious grating and it just broke. The casing for the transmission mechanism, where the rotary action is turned into back and forth, just fell apart. Cheap poured metal, just like my belt buckle (which at least lasted nine years). I switched to the old trimmer and finished the job. On the way back we dropped by the same old fast food joint and took "three midle, one big" (pljeskavica, which actually may pass for a hamburger but not the other way around, this is just meat and not much bullshit - the middle one is 200g, the big one is 250 of meat). We usually take two plus one (the big one goes to Nina); the extra one is for Violet, her first time to take one whole for herself. So far she was getting pieces from us. I wish Raja would take some. Actually he tried a bit, said he liked it, but then didn't take much, just a bite or two.

I've finished my first two things in Python: the logger (does what dclog.prg did) and then the script to move pictures from memory card(s) or phone(s) to appropriate folders on the disk. It's not as simple - first, the raw pics go to a zdz folder (as per Radoje's "zdz... za domaći zadatak", i.e. for homework); ready jpegs go into their pics/decade/year/date folder and they also get renamed into eos70-nnnnn-yyyy-mm-dd-ss format (because when I do any kind of processing, the date would be lost, so weld it into the filename before doing anything else). Videos go into a similarly built folder of their own. Anyway, this was actually simpler than I thought. I like the way Python guys are thinking, specially the lack of corporate bullshit and things which may help sales. No gold plating, just stuff which works. OK, sometimes they changed their minds, there are some funny shortcuts... but, hey, it works.

28th I got into the car and drove to Lena and Milan, egg delivery. Somewhere between 120 and 160, I didn't really count the cartons. No bacon this time, they are diversifying a little. They seem to be doing just fine.

Two days ago it was Anita's fourth birthday, so we had another skype chat with the little šindivila, and Go and Stanley, of course. Neša was sleeping, so didn't see him much. They also look happy and ok, despite the epidemic being worse than here. He actually sold another car and got it mostly paid, the rest in 2-3 months. Then his dad came by... so we left them to the company of the old bum.

Borko called yesterday, the curfew should be lifted by friday, so... we'll talk in more detail when the preliminary becomes postliminary.

The new 2Tb SSD for Raja's box arrived. I was amazed at the size of the package, until I remembered that Nina also ordered two packs of printing paper. The 2nd 500xA4 pack for the last ten years was finally spent last week, mostly for kids' drawings. The printer didn't see much use - the original 200 sheet toner, that came with it, lasted three years, and this second toner is used even less. The only thing that I remember was printed last year was Nina's paperwork to sign and then scan and send back to her lawyers in the process of handling her back taxes. Perhaps a couple of knitting or crochet patterns.

Our old rooster died today, age five, which is a respectable age for a rooster. The young one is about ten months old. We noticed that he's barely moving and that the hens and the young rooster are pecking on him, so she let him out, to graze around and enjoy some freedom. I went to get the eos70, noticed that I'm out of coffee, so made one - the whole thing lasts less than three minutes. I was late.

We started making noodles again. Not in the big room downstairs, not with four kids zipping around, but in our bedroom upstairs. Finally, soup feels right again. (... 38 words...)

Sanda and Linda have trained us to take them upstairs at least once a day, up to three at times, to play. Since they can't go up the stairs (maybe they can but we don't dare let them), not to mention down, we take them in our hands (Linda goes with baba almost always). Specially on days such as these when it's a bit cold outside. We finally had some rain (29th, 1st, 2nd), but there's still no mud to speak of. The soil is very thirsty.
