(... 68 words...)

The crazy priest from #5 fed the pigeons (or was it pidgeons? pijeons, then) with whole bread slices, but - ah, the seagulls - they were at the beach now. But we got starlings here. There's an endemic flock of a few thousand, nesting wherever they find a spot, even in the kitchen aspirator exhaust, even though it has a sheet metal cover, which the hen lifts with her beak. Even made a vide of how she does it.

Lena's grapefruit (aka gejfurf, as immortalized on Škrba's legendary shot) is of considerable size now. The poor thing has a largish flowerpot to itself. We kept carrying it inside for each winter, and then forgot once. When the frost came, it lost its leaves, and grew new ones in spring, nothing wrong with it. Never bore fruit, though.

The big plant in front is the oleander, of which we took a cutting during the 2001 vacation. It grew in front of the house where our rooms were, the kickout division of the hotel, and we took it to A-burg, then brought it here in 2003, and replanted when we bought the house. It's taller than me now. It will be replanted into Nina's yard, but won't survive that, it stood uprooted for too long, the root dried.

I packed zmajček too... actually packed just about everything, except hand luggage. We lifted each bag on the angler's scale at least six times, until each was below 24kg, may all fuck Lufthansa. This lifting tired me more than everything else together.

Netflix wrote that my subscription was canceled and I'm due to return three disks. Looking at their titles, that's what girls were watching, don't remember any of those. Geico refunded me with 49$ of unused insurance for the Matrix. We bought something at Jaycee Penney, probably clothing - shorts, t-shirts, shirts. If that's it, what did we get at Marshal's yesterday? Trecherous memory, totally confused inside my head, when where what. But we needed all of it.

m$ just confessed that they have no idea when will they resolve the SMB2 bug; a guy on UA passed an email from a softie. Says „I talked with dev and they say they'd have to dive deeper into it. I didn't get any time estimate. Thanks for calling and reminding me to nudge them a bit more.“ This bug practically kills file sharing, so all the systems which relied on it since the earliest networks, where two or more apps, not necessarily from different computers, keep a file open and write into it, generally stopped being reliable. The system may wrongly report to any one of those that their buffers are clean and identical to what's on disk, while there are differences. It already happened that apps crashed - and it's not only fox, but also Access, bTrieve, Clarion and others. Because m$ wants to sell escuelle server, so screw the cheaper systems, including your own cheaper ones. It worked flawlessly all the way to the Vista (2007), and now doesn't, allegedly for speed's sake. The bug will never be fixed, SMB3 will be out without the fix.

The guy's official title is „Support Escalation Engineer Commercial Technical Support Platforms Networking Team“, which I didn't bother to translate in serbian version, there was a risk I'd come out of the other end of the sentence with a lowered IQ.

Leaving Jan to guard the SHET and CAAR forts while I'm offline:

Code is in SHETEngine09.prg. #defined constants are prefixed with a h. SHETEngine09 is different from others in architecture; it's not doing one method at a time for all cycles, but rather all the methods for one cycle at a time. This.oRC is the cycle record (t_SHETc table, prefix shc_), this.oRP is the patient record (t_SHETp.dbf, prefix shp_). Documents are in $/Documentation/SystemDocs/ReportingAgency/SHET/, the original SHET-Import-Gateway-Spec-2009-V2.1.pdf and my derived .doc with the same name.

Also, later, to David:

19:44:15 me: FYI, I just did my last banking here, and had a bit of a heated discussion with my credit union. It turned out that Serbia is still blacklisted for credit/debit cards, and Swift doesn't work either. When you catch the time, see with your bank (or Suez's) if that is the case when sending from Canada (or UK).

19:44:15 me: If so, I'll open an account in Hungary, like I did before, and can travel from time to time to raise some cash
I got most of it out, for now, in form of travelers' cheques, so we're covered for the first few months.

21:33:17 David: Will do

That means that I could have emptied my account and closed it, but could that in their HQ in Richmond. Which I would have managed, had I known about that last week. But no, I called a couple of months in advance, and they told me to call them a day or two before leaving, to put a remark on my accont that I'll be living in Europe thereon. Then suddenly overyester it turns out that Serbia is not in Europe, perhaps it moved to an island or what. Having no time to get to Richmond before closing, it's a two hour drive, the remaining option was to get traveler's checks. Which they don't have in their regular outlet on Holland, where I used to deposit my salary checks, but there's another. At least I drove over the fresh new blacktop that way. I managed to catch about 5600$ in checks, that's what they had in stock. Of course, I moved all of th 8096$ from savings to checking.

Late in the evening, around 23:00, it occurred to me that I'm getting thin with underpants, not quite pantless, but. Dived into the Matrix and made one last round to Walmart, bought a pack from some guy Ralph Laurent. Lasted me seven years. And it wasn't a symbolic gesture, to get in, ignore thousands of other items and make a bare 7$ purchase, just to brag how ad resistant we got - nope, we did this before, did it for years.
