15-II-2012.

On 10th, Vasa of ppp has cunted up on something - the moderators would have their whims and the policy was highly stochastic - so he created a forum of his own, burundi, which is a play on the nickname of ppp, Kinšasa. I was there almost at once, on 12th... so still too late to be counted as a co-founder, but early enough to earn the status of aborigine. While in the, now already, ancestral lands* my name was Расејан (which means all of absentminded, diaspora and disseminated), here I am Paće (v. Gradivoj for explanation).

Lena is trying to install LaTex on gugolj but it's a linux thing and she's on Win 7 32-bit. And wants to try to get a stipend... from Japan. Though it's a tough sell, she's on budget and thus doesn't qualify, i.e. her scholarship is paid from taxes.

In Feds, I was messing with the orders form, which now has to handle two more types. There's already two or three types of orders, three types of alerts, and now two types of messages (to and from patient). The number of controls which may or not be visible, depending on the type (and subtype!) is about a dozen, and on top of that more than half of them have their own pieces of code which, when visible, has to behave depending on type. And then there are some overview forms where the orders table should be filtered this way or other and the data in various fields shown this way or that, depending on type and subtype. Headache.

On portal side, we now have something the SMS doesn't have - an ACK is sent back to this table when the patient displays the message. We still don't know whether she read it, nobody knows that, but display is something we do and we can just as well inform ourselves about it.

This weekend Richard is converting from dbfs to SQL, at least that's the plan.

For whichever reason I opened this power strip, perhaps I wanted to screw it somewhere. And I was horrified with what I saw inside. First the least: the short white wire connects to... what? The unused side of the switch? Second, this is supposed to carry about 1600W... and this wire doesn't look like 2,5 mm2. The worst and most horifying is that the ground is fake, it's only for show - there's no third wire. Wow.

This POS went to junk immediately. The yellow cable is also Chinese junk, but we won't use it for anything serious from now on. I'll just go and buy wire and plugs and make my own work chords. Not buying anything electric from the Chinese anymore.

On 17th I drove Ender to Belgrade. We slept a couple of hours at Lena's place, ordered sushi from somewhere but it was stale. He didn't feel quite well and didn't get much sleep, because the stomach pressure mad him gag in his sleep. I had that many times over the last years, and I learned how to react (still alive, ain't I?), so I shouted instructions to him and he recovered quickly. We still made it to the airport on time and off he went.

The next day the cats wouldn't eat the sushi. We saw Ender on skype, thus confirming he arrived safe and sound.

On 20th Raja made a few steps. A kind of testing the waters. Then the next day he didn't then few days later he started walking for real. He's still playing with the old GameBoy we found in Čankovo.

* actually, more complicated, the word is prapostojbina, the pra- being the slavic version of the pre- or ante- prefix. However, on both forums it's prapostojebina, to make it similar to vukojebina, a wolffuck, i.e. the farthest neck of the woods where the wolves fuck.
