17-XI-2014.

In the morning I got all four of them in the saxo and took them to the airport. Željko will meet them there - in Limassol, I guess.

In the afternoon, went with Lena to Lalinski to talk with the old lady about the house. We made a deal, it'll be the 7500€ that she asked. Had to hear too much of family history along the way, about her two husbands etc. Dad seemed to know one (first or second), who had to flee the other village where dad once worked, for screwing (someone over) something serious (embezzlement?).

In the evening, had a three way skype - with Go in Seattle (Stanley's friend's house), Nina on Cyprus. Neša was already snitching Go's coffee.

On nineteenth we met with the old lady and her daughter and her husband, to finalize the deal. The sale now doesn't have to go throuh the court, the newly established offices of notaries (two of them in town so far) now do that, just as formal (they are officers of the court, just outsourced) but far less complicated. Proper serbian would be 'beležnik', old local here 'notaroš', but in Belgrade everyone says notar.

The daughter is a bleached blonde. I used to see with that type of hungarian girl here - perhaps quarter of Čurda is like that - an utter turkey, all in affectations and fake posh, she could take the hotel desk in Subotica (v. 28-VIII-2010.) if she'd only have more style. She went on and on how it's one happy house, you'll have great time there, it will be a big positive influence... Her husband mostly kept mum (in serbian I wrote he was a ćutolog - silentologist), seems to be just the driver. Luckily, we'll meet just once more. We have the contract, it says we paid, all settled.

For some reason we had to go to an exchange office after the notary, they had something to do there, and we waited outside. It being on the corner next to pinovavila, I used the opportunity to make a bunch of shots at dusk, it was the blue hour. Then we went back to the notary (same street, actually, perhaps 300m away) and completed the paperwork. Well, for that day.

There will be more of it with the cadaster in Njujork, which is the municipality seat (just a 5 minute drive from Lalinski), which may be more complicated, but that's for another day. They'll arrange the move - the old lady is still living there, and will now go live with them - and the physical handover of keys will be then.
