On sixth we took to check the flowerpots we made from the old sink and tub, as nothing grew as expected. Out of six plants in the sink, only the chives grew but they were also very thin and not good at all. So we took out the cube root.

That is, the neigbor's tree found its way trough the drain hole, though we covered it with particle board (which was also laminated on one side). It spread so wide that the main trunk of it was thick as a finger, and we managed to take it all out in one piece. Worse than chickweed. The tub was similar, even though we covered the hole with a piece of tile - the root found its way there too. It dawned on us that this won't work until we figure out a way to have proper pots, disconnected from the floor.

On seventh we started making the middle shelf in the big room downstairs. There was some wall there when we came, but it was ugly and made the inner part very dark, so we removed it. Now we noticed the ceiling sag,

Thanks for the kind words, but I don't do drugs.

But that was in the afternoon. In the morning, Jüzek called and briefly informed me that my status has changed from regular (payrolled) employee to on-call consultant, and that I should charge hourly whenever I do anything.

No paperwork ever came. Officially, maybe I'm still employed at UniJewel. So let's see, I'm now 1) jobless, 2) beyond hope of finding a job with my visa expired and therefore not transferrable anymore, 3) not hoping for much more money from these guys, 4) owner of more than a half a house (legally, of all of it, but there's a lien - which I wouldn't call full ownership, though the bank doesn't pay any taxes for its part, it's all me who pays).

I later heard that it was the current manager, who came shortly after Jüzek's son-in-law was moved to Antwerp (where he'd do less damage?), finally thought he needs to look like he's doing something and not only pacing the corridor. So he bought an app which will deploy in two months, will solve everything and would cost about my two years of salary. Which made me redundant.

I later heard that they tried to keep up the appearance that the app will launch really soon now for almost a year, when the cost and the effort were silently buried. It never deployed.
