Two days ago Overyester I drove her and Lena to ORF airport. Since UniJewel gives me only a two weeks' vacation, ignoring the unused days of last year, I scrounged the adjoining weekends and that's from David, not the boss. That's no reason that they shouldn't stay longer, so we arranged that they take off few days ahead of me, and stay there longer too. The only trouble is that I can't cook, but I'll manage that much. Everything fine, they checked in their luggage, see you on the other side.

When I got home, not an hour passed and the phone rang. Weather fuckup over Atlanta, airport closed, fly tomorrow. Went to pick them up, try again tomorrow. Which then worked, but even so it didn't go smoothly. Atlanta airspace didn't quite clear up, they had the backlog too, so their flight was delayed.

Next day they landed on CDG but it's too late. Their next airplane was gone. So they got a room in a nearby hotel, and a couple of vouchers for meals and get to spend almost 24 hours in Paris. They called me somehow to tell me the news; I emailed mom and dad just to let them know that „they got one-day schengen visa, take of 17:00 tomorrow and then whenever they arrive“. Also phoned and got an email back. Everything settled.

Meanwhile the project across the street is undergoing a roof shingle replacement.They're fast, the old one is removed with crowbars and the new one affixed by nail guns. Done in two days.
