Vacation in Split, as guests of Milosava, who was then married to a military pilot, who had a nice apartment on the top floor of a novogradnja, but not in a large block thereof, just twin buildings with just four floors. Her brother was there too, and we played a lot of remi (a variant of rummy, I guess, with similar rules, probably somewhat skewed) on the floor. Not enough furniture for so many people.
The pilot guy took a liking to me and taught me whatever he could - about different kinds of clouds. Took me to the oceanographic institute, aka aquarium, which I don't remember much, but trekking along the beach, climbing the stones etc, is unforgettable.
Dad and I went down to the riva to get newspaper (he insisted on reading "Politika" even there, and would complain to anybody who'd listen if it was half-hidden behind german newspapers). On the way back we took the two buildings on the hilltop as landmarks, from which we should be somewhere to the left but then we got nowhere. We then took to these buildings, hoping to find our way from there - and guess what, one of them contained the apartment :).
The picture was taken when we got home and Milosava visited her mom and brother. Or the divorce was already in the works.
Note how we wear apostolke (i.e. flipflops), they were the fashion of the year.
