Tried to navigate to the local school board's website, to find where to catch the school bus tomorrow morning (today being the 1st of may), but got a 404. Emailed the board just in case, and got an auto-reply that "I will be out of the office on Friday, August 31. If you need immediate assistance, please call ...". Well, it's effin' monday, maam. She did reply later, but with a bad link. I replied

That takes me to your Outlook web access page (https://webmail.ourlocalschools.com/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://busroute.ourlocalschools.com/edulog/servlet/WebQueryRequestController, i.e. it won't redirect me unless I sign in to your webmail).

Properly extracted, your link gets me to the standard bus schedule web page, which doesn't help - I need the Academic program schedule, which was always a separate one.

Anyway, my daughter says it should be the same schedule as last year, and if it's not, I'll just drive her tomorrow. It's probably a problem in her school that the page is missing, don't fret about it. I'm also a programmer, and I know Murphy doesn't respect Labor Day.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Did some more conversion for Paige, don't remember exactly between what, probably an acquired system they wanted to include. By the current count, this contains the oldest version of dcLog.prg, my simple logger. However, now I see that it's a bit older - 25-I-2007. is the oldest comment in it.

Something about SHET with David on skype, and about my last invoice. With "Happy Labour Day!"... which is an in-joke, I've worked practically all holidays this year - no matter what I'd count as one. The religious are non-, the SFRY are forgotten, Serbia's I don't even know when they are (OK, knew labour day because it's NOT on 1st of may)

17:53:25 David: (B. and I are in Saskatoon from tonite)

18:30:32 me: "Running back to Saskatoon" - The Guess Who?

18:35:41 David: One of my favourites...saw them live in 1976

18:42:40 me: Once in '72 I was stuck at home with a flu, and had about five interesting albums borrowed from a friend - The Guess Who was among them. Still like them.

This on sezam

Wow? They get me pissed of like an earthworm. Should I mention that every other time I drive to the other end of time some Avax is following me :). Makes insane noise, flies low and spends my money.

... but so it increases the BDP ;>

... by manufacturing what, Petrović?

Pouring from hollow into empty. Generally, 90% of the money in circulation is virtual money, so one fart on the stock market may blow away huge fortunes (though not to those who know how to make tangible property out of virtual money and do that on time).

It was calculated that a billion and a half flies into town annually from the base being here, because it makes the critical mass. There's the base, there's a few thou people who work on it, then there are their families which again work somewhere (YMMV), and then all of them have to eat something, live somewhere, shop somewhere, so they make a living for a few thousand people more, and in the hood some shops survive which wouldn't be there if they werent there, as they wouldn't have enough customers.

All in the style of that hotel joke about multilateral compensation. Because there's practically no production. Stihl has a plant here, there's some shipyards (but military, so they again produce consumption), there's a plant producing ceramic tiles and that's about all the industry. Ford has closed the factory of home tanks... the greatest hopes are laid on a landfill for newyorkian garbage, that will bring most cash into the area. Tourists come and go, military is always here, there's garbage all year. Everything else is services. As a guy said, "and now we'll all wash each others' underpants and we'll all make a nice living on that". Economy without production, gimme a break. If they weren't robbing the whole world, they'd have been bust the day before yesterday.

All the photos for today are of Lena holding Tik Tak in her lap.

Blurring her face (... 4 words...) I just went with it. As granma would say, „she's ours too“.
