Exists in turkish as well. It's what you nibble at while you drink. Any kind of morsels, dry meat, cheese, pogačice, nuts, whatever. The verb mezetiti means "to eat with the drink".

This means that it's more than just drinking, it's a premeditated operation, designed to take a while, at leisure pace.
