This was later, when half the beams were ready.

We were straightening the six [mm gauge rebar], to join the elements for the garage and shed roofs. It's sold in bundles, about one meter in diameter, so one end is tied to a tree, the other to a tractor, stretched straight and then cut as needed. No tractor, and dad didn't even try to look for one, so we then just stretched it manually as far as we could, then laid it on a fosna [50mm thick plank] and beat it with a hammer to straighten out. Lots of work, all afternoon. These were cemented in the grooves of the elements, and it should set while we're on the sea, then pour the plate.

The family of Veca and Sneca are playing mysterious, they may or may not go to Borik with us, perhaps they'd go with some other members of the once caravan to Bralići, we'll see. On the other hand, the garage is built extra wide, six by four, to fit two cars - our fića and their 850S. Them being just three blocks away, it would be really convenient. The shed behind the house is also rebuilt into two 2x4 rooms, mostly as an extended pantry. One of them has a potato trap, a cubic pit in the floor, to be covered with planks, to keep the potatos away from the light.

Tejka and hers are traveling there today. She still doesn't know whether we'll be there or perhaps in Biograd.

By 8th I already had some visible muscle from all the work. Finally some.

On 10th, a saturday, by sheer hunch went to visit Veca and Sneca, and Vladimirawas there (yes, the same, they knew each other somehow) and some A., also quite pretty. So I went downtown with them. Just scouting the places. Next evening, again, with some money and plans. Met a bunch of folks - Skule, two more guys from DC-99, and above all, Bosa. In a gorgeous red mini skirt. Not so inaccessible as I had thought before. We danced, and I liked her a lot. Too bad her sister dragged her away so soon. I think the place we were was the yard, aka terrace, of Dom. Probably the first time there. Some part of the park is above the fence, the river is close so the yard was partially dug into the embankment, so we peeked in - that was the scouting. Went there for another evening, but they were both nervous for some reason, and the feeling was wrong, so we dropped it.

Around 13th, a letter from Melanija, about anything and nothing, almost as if she didn't read my last one, all unrelated.

New furniture at the club. We're negotiating for a water line, can't have a lab without water, and to improve the power lines, this is nearly dangerous. Sewers are also on the list. Managed to wrest a guarantee letter so I can buy a roll of color film when in Zadar, no time to buy it here, I guess they didn't have it in Optika by the bridge.

The masons are making good progress - the pantries are already roofed, and the foundation slab for the garage is laid.

A story went around that a team of fans made a big, 15m long flag, stretched between two cars, and drove so to Temišvar to root at a representation match. Which they probably never actually went to, it takes some time to sell 45m of jersey cloth... They gave the star for free to the best buyer. Another smugglers' legend, though in this case I have a feeling it actually happened.
