Yesterday Lena was still here - there are lots of shots with Go, Neša, Johana, Donald.

It was supposed to be a regular meeting at DC-99, but turned out that Skule became a grandfather and brought some provisions to treat the gang. From the shots, I see I managed to sit as far from Brlja as I could, actually next to Skule, and Miško was there and Joška too. Also Z., but not the one who was a member around 1973 (and had a cute sister in fourth one in gimnazija), this was his somewhat younger brother. With the beard, even curlier hair and the same kind of glasses, I thought it was him, but it was not. [the guy died suddenly a few years later]

Judging by the shots, I gather I was showing off with the new Gelios-40A lens, mounted on eos40, and how it's a whole different world when you wean yourself off the automatics for a bit. Actually it's still somewhat automatic - the exposure is now not fully programmable, it's lens aperture priority, because the aperture is mechanical in the lens and not reported to the camera, there aren't any electrical contacts in between, and the focusing is manual. The focus is a problem, because the notches on the lens are useless, the distance to the film/CCD is not that, and what you see in the viewfinder isn't exactly the same as the CCD will see, and the focus may be a bit off, perhaps 2-3% of the distance beyond the spot on which you saw it focused. But if you use the live screen, with magnification, for focusing, then it's perfect, just eats more battery.

I gave it around and more or less everyone who was interested could take a shot. The demo shot I made was of the beer that Skule brought - import Löwenbräu, not its fourth photocopy, the Lav.

At Firriver, there was work for CAAR, the version for 2013 (there will be one for 2016, one for 2019), which is now two months since 10-IX-2012.... this stuff never ends.
