Went downtown with Lena for some shopping, I guess some garment. Had a long walk first, because she stopped by hairdresser, to try that out. Took a shot of Begej, freshly frozen. Met Džole, with beard shortened wryly and took a shot of her with him. Then later explained the Džole.

We swung to, of course, Prleski as well. It got quite renovated, the old tiny tables with marble slate top in dark hard wood frame are gone, as are the chairs of boiled bent wood, the likes of which we also used to have. But at least the new owner kept the old layout - door to the right, the vitrine to the left in the front half, then more tables on the left and kitchen to the right in the back. The old owner, as I heard, sold this and moved the business somewhere closer to us.

The hairdresser is in Šeherezada, the legendary house on the main street, which the owner spruced up along the lines of spanish-moorish style, hence the nickname took root. The governments change, but each finds the cash to renew the façade of this beauty.

The shot is a bit blurry because I didn't wait for the lens to unfog, shot right away to see what I'll get.

Some greek bank is now in the space where once Crvenkapa (red riding hood, kids' wares shop) was, but it doesn't seem to be doing well, the first three letters in its title the Alfa got shortened to „ha bank“. Of course, a greek bank in Serbia must speak engrbian, can't be „Alfa banka“, must be „Alpha bank“.

In the shop where once Jugoplastika was she took a while picking what she wanted, and I stayed outside with cigarette in one hand and Fujica in the other. Through the shop window I noticed the clerk, and of course, didn't resist the temptation. Eh, these used to be old ladies, now they're all made up and tightened up as if on a fashion show, or at least sponzoruša. When I finished the cig, Lena waved me in, some payment was due. And then the shock of the week - this airplane of a chick speaks such a melenački banatski dialect, that I melted on the spot. Of such chicks I expect to hear some fancy belgrader speak, or at least pretend posh, but nope, this is the kid from our end.

Probably television dropped dead here too, they don't learn the speak from the box, but from their kin and friends again, there're no more official speakers but rather hundred flowers blossoming on hundred channels. Who knows why this is good.
