Found Joel Spolsky on the net, reading his articles. About how to decide the price of software... says either rubberstamp it by thousands at 20$, or a handful at 50000, there's no middle ground, because whatever you do, some customers will find themselves discriminated. The theory whereby if you sell 5000 of something at 100$, you lost at least 50000 for undercharging those who were willing to buy it even at 200$, and once more that much by losing those who would have bought it had it cost 60 or 40... There he goes about fumbling with versions, with this or without that etc, which makes the customers cunt out even more because the 100$ version gets them 95% of the job done, yet they must pay 50 more for the remaining 5%. And it doesn't matter whether you sell cars, stereo systems or software, it's always the extra 2-3% of quality that costs 20% more of the money.
Here's my retell of what's it look like with airplane tickets, where there's a very high probability that no two tickets on one flight had cost the same:
Here, for example, the airlines decided to give a discount but not for a business trip. Now how do they know which of them is a business trip, when companies rarely purchase tickets for their workers - everyone buys their own, scores some points for himself, and gets reimbursed later - so how then?
Well they don't know. But they count on the firm will not pay anyone's hotel over the weekend in some city out there, but will rather have the guy home by friday. That may be cheaper in the end, and companies rarely send anyone to go out on wednesday and come back on tuesday. So, there's the solution: discount on trips which span over a saturday-to-sunday night.
But some still manage. Assume guy needs to stay there for two weeks. He buys a ticket from A to B for monday, return for the _other_ friday. Then he buys another ticket, from B to A on the first friday and from A to B for next monday. So he gets the discount twice, and spends the weekend at home.
There's a pile of other tricks - google „joel no pricing“.
Now how will a hardware seller back home to distinguish a physical from a chemical person, i.e. Pera Perić from a firm? Well simple, he'll say „more expensive for firms“, counting on 90% of citizens have not the slightest that that was revoked long ago, that the retail tax is the same etc etc, and if it passes, it passes.

I see I did something in her folder, under D:\DOX\EZZI\WEB_V4, it says there's something in there, and more, since november, „...not needed for etsi v2: " "+this.ohtml.wraptag(Getwordnum(cZamena,2),"sup")“, also „...the earrings remain in plural“. And in december I also downloaded Alekasndr Grigorjev's gpImage to make pictures in the set sizes in subdirectories. I see I've used my classes which generate webpage contents... fuckit, whatever it was, I guess I was prepackaging stuff to post on Etsy. Can't know now, those directories are gone. Luckily, I had scanned the code so I at least have these comments in the biglog table, there's some trace. Who knows what happened there, it could have been the last victiom of periodic disk purges. Only a couple of years later will I buy a sufficiently large disk and have enough room to avoid choosing what to remove every now and then.
The sales on Etzy somehow took off only after we had arranged one fake sale, by having Danilo pretend to buy one skirt, guess this fall. Of course, he paid nothing and we didn't send it, which the site doesn't register at all, that part stays between seller and buyer. Then we started posting a lot of her cotton jewelry, but that also didn't take off until she invented kvormers (v. house dictionary), and then she started getting dealt strong cards...
With Škrba, on this and that...
There's not a single anthology, and I leafed through several, where they enough nose to look in front of outside of their cubicle. Their ethnography ends somewhere in Ireland and Scotland, Europe on the Rome-Vienna line... Berlin may already be a tad too far. They know of Greece, but only of the old one - the present one is never mentioned. Specially since their recent bad feelings toward Amers :).
In the end it all comes down to my initial notion that I desire reading a lot.
Charles stross. Definitely the third one in the zig-zag line William Gibson - Greg Egan - Charles Stross. Last night I finished the Akselerando, and I am happy that I don't have to translate it :). The finale of it is a bit of a quick job, and as things look it seems that what I read as the second part is actually the third... let me peek quickly into Wikipedia.
There, they really got published one after the other, but it seems that the two books of Eschaton (Singularity Sky, Iron Sunrise) are in between, thematically.
(about movies, with a look over the shoulder on Bergman, we come to Hungarians and the movie „Kontroll“)
Still haven't reach the point where I'd watch Bergman... first let me leaf through what I found on my disk :). Prexinoć* I went to check whether I needed a translation for Kontroll... and I realized that
1) I'll watch it right away anyway (after two minutes)
2) and if I thought I didn't understand enough, [watch it] second time with translation (after three minutes)
3) there's no theory that anyone could translae it all, simply no space for it (after three and a half minutes), and the world has somehow gone into some overpoliteness, the Amers put on the pressure, or what, and for sure the „what are you for which dick so jerked up“ will be translated as „really, what's the matter with you“ (checked, it was, and I'm loathe to redact it)
The movie is, btnj, SF only very conditionally, as much as the first half of the phantom in the opera is. Ie there's some mysterious character pushing people under the trains - the whole movie happens under Budapest, in the subway, the main cast of characters are the controllers. There are insane ideas in there, but what impressed me is several things I haven't seen even in Newyork - how people react (seems to be they had a semihidden digital camera), how the actors look normal, and how everything is in color, even underground. America is gray, I'm still cunting to this day. As my burner croaked (does manage to roast, but then freezes the machine when trying to read it), when I get to insert a new one I'll repaint my box. To mine [dick] the gray. Wish I saw at least one iron fence painted in that blue of ours, just to have the wish pass me :).
(About Erih fon Deniken)
This is what specially annoyed me with Denikić, this thesis that our ancestors were dumbos. They may have been silly, for allowing the knowledge to get lost, but I don't believe they were unable to make it all by themselves.
On seventeenth, more messing with Sean, in several places, but no comments in code. I was either not in the mood, or there wasn't anything big. I have an intellisense macro for quite a while now to leave such comments, not a chore at all, just type ss at the beginning of a line and I get a comment marker, bracketed datetime, „sGradlj - “ and then I'd only need to type what's relevant. But if I didn't, it means there wasn't anything. As Berix said, „don't tell me what you're doing, I can read the code, but rather tell me why are you doing it, specially why here, and why in exactly that way and not in the usual one, so that anyone taking this over may not try to fix it and slam into exactly the obstacle you were avoiding.“
