Around the first half of the month, don't know exactly when, a radna akcija was organized... by don't know who, perhaps the faculty SSOJ, to go to Čelarevo to pick corn. The corn is not the regular tall sort, that'll be done by some other folks, more adept to this kind of work, we mathematicians of the second year will get to pick the seed corn, which isn't so tall and its ears aren't so big.
This was caused by several rainy weeks, which got the soil so soaked that the machinery can't enter the fields, for fear of getting stuck there, would sink to the axle. Not that we had anything much to do, we got it done in some four hours, and got a crate or two of the local beer. Of course, the čelarevsko beer is not even close to zrenjaninsko (although some forty years later I found out that both breweries were built by Dunđerski), but let's not insult the host.
There were a lot of us, we almost filled a bus. There was a cute scene when Hare (a Montenegrin with a bosnian surname) had the idea that we could go take a leak...

Walked away a plow's length, turned my back to the others. Around us the flatland as far as eye can reach, which wasn't much more than a few hundred meters, the weather being the veritable november, continuous low clouds and a light haze. I took it out and

PGP RTB (produkcija gramofonskih ploča radio televizije Beograd) got a big load of soviet classic music albums, so they advertised it over the whole page in Bolikita (Politika... boli kita - dick hurts), and there was a certain typo, and then later you couldn't convince people there's no guy named Genedelj, it's printed that way. Six people tops understood that it should be Gendelj, i.e. Hendl, i.e. Händel.
