31-XII-1975.

Yet another doček. This time on the Titanic, which was a decomissioned river ship, parked right in front of the courthouse, serving as a restaurant. The Dom being just 100m upstream helped a lot to boost its sales - when that closes, the gangs in best of moods would just make a stop there.

This time we had qute a gang to be with - the deejay for the night was Sleš (with wife, equipment and records), also present Adža and Zaka and then a bunch of guys and gals I barely knew. The bartender was the famous Gedža (of "Moravac" fame) and there was also ćevapčići on the menu. I was, of course, the photographer. Thanks to the low ceiling, I was able to bounce the flash off it, so the thick smoke didn't create the milky layer over the whole shots, but just create the artistic sfumato (i.e. smoked) atmosphere, which was just great.

It was a costume ball, so we all came with various garments or makeup, not suited to any particular set of roles (i.e. no dynosaurs or specific characters from movies, TV or fairy tales), just a ragtag bunch of general pirates. I wore the hat that she made out of my first jeans (from 1971) and she wore a bandanna. We brought a kilo of vodka, but as we weren't supposed to bring our own drinks, we poured it into a beer bottle (in two times) and offered to anyone willing to take a swig. Nobody quite guessed what hit them, but "oriental spice" was sufficient explanation, I guess they thought we had some kind of liquid weed.

There was a nice layer of snow outside.

For this shot I had to analyze what I did. First I thought that she helped, but no, she wasn't there, I actually put the praktika on the sewing machine('s cabinet), took aim and focus, set it to manual long exposure, turned of the lights, screwed the wire trigger to open, lied down, turned on the light (there's a trace of my hand under it, and the cable is also visible through the hand), lied like that for a while, then turned off the light and unscrewed the trigger.

Eči came to play cards, with his dad's škodilak (same model as ours, just a lighter color and an extra letter to the model). We played canasta, in pairs, I think it was us I vs Eči and mom. He complained about being surrounded by Mike Oldfield from behind. They fared badly that day.
