We actually had two, one after the other. The first one I got when I finished gimnazija. It was a GDR made descendant of the old Leica camera, fully SLR and with a Zeiss lens (Jena was in this side of Germany). No light meter, had bought one separately. Very solid mechanic shutter, worked perfectly 1974-1991, when I finally managed to get a piece of film stuck between the shutter's thin steel sheets again, which did it.
The 2nd Praktica had metering (had to press a button and keep it pressed while changing aperture or time, to see the needle get into the middle. A better lens this time, a Tessar instead of Domiplan, even though both were 50/2,8. This one she brought from her trip to Slovakia, while leaving the old broken one in the garbage can in the hotel room. She did declare one at the border on exit, so brought back exactly one.
