Daycare. Was different from kindergarten in that it took schoolkids as well, and the stay was for as long as parents were at work. Kids below 6 or 7 were to be picked by their parents and brought next morning; older ones could walk. Care was taken only not to release the kids when the Kombinat gates open, because of the rush of hundreds of bicycles. It was actually inside the Kombinat yard, in a nice old Austro-Hungarian building.
It was in this street, bordering the kombinat and the park, one of three streets paved with yellow brick. The other two were the main street and a piece of what went from city hall to the quay; those were repaved with asphalt later. In 2007, when the main street was remodeled, it was shaven into one flat surface - no raised sidewalks - and what yellow bricks were left were inserted between the granite tiles as decoration. This is the remaining yellow brick road in the city.
