On sezam, I mentioned something about being too old to go across and start from scratch. If I didn't do that back in 88, now it's fuck that business.

I guess by this time we got that guy who laid the tiles. [wrong, that was a year ago]

Also, during this month and the following two or three, three more ladies were hired into DBA - those of Brata, Blaža and, after a while, Fefi. While the latter at least used to work in Big Ćale's erc, the other two had nothing to do with computers. I don't remember ever seeing them doing any real work, except once in the spring when two of them were trying out Sale's new generator.

Tobacco was getting harder to find. The cigarettes you could only buy on the sidewalk, who knows what kind and of what origin, with the tax stamp and without, and even that was becoming irrelevant. So we gradually switched to better tobacco from the green market (where it was sold this year and the previous and never again). There was never a shortage of cigarette paper. Then we switched to just any available tobacco, including what peasants cut and fermented themselves the best they knew how, with extraneous ingredients and not too nice a smell. Things we get used to.

Then Grgi almost started smoking. During one of the frequent meetings of zbrlj... sorry, the owners' assembly (where, oh the miracle, the four ladies also took part even though they weren't owners at all), Anđa sat next to me. I lit one of them stinkers, and she immediately switched to sit next to Grgi. If he didn't start smoking right there and then, he never will. He confessed he was seriously thinking of it.
