Around the improvised bench

Around the improvised bench

A week after Kees and Jan returned from Toronto we still haven’t heard the big plan or why was the secret team created or any of that. On that front, Jevgenij and Grbo still don’t have an answer to how will it connect back to Feds database, how will the data from their database get transported into the main. There’s a script to create that new database, but they aren’t using it – it was just run against the old one which now has extra tables (mostly ghosts of existing ones, I guess). And, ah, Jevgenij didn’t know that the portal messaging is bidirectional, he thought it could pass as just notifications. Also, re progress notes, they didn’t even look at the structure of the tables involved in Feds (where all the rules are explained). When asked (by Nina, all this) about the overall design, i.e. how do they know what to make, they referred to some specs written by Briyesh, but couldn’t /wouldn’t produce them the whole week.

Nina: Dilemma I have right now is this. Jevgenij was trying to set up Online Booking on a test portal, so he used this document: https//Firriver..../31031323/Online+Booking - it contained everything that the clinic should be able to set up, but doesn't contain the Config tool stuff because that's something only support is supposed to do, not the clinic. So where would that go?

Briyesh: it should go into confluence in a separate thread. One is customer facing and the other is internal.

Nina: [three crying emoji]

Briyesh: I'm sorry. [pic of Morpheus, with "What if I told you... there is no handkerchief?]

me: I may be confused, but I somehow expected a link to the branch of the wiki in confluence where this technical stuff is written down. We have that for Feds proper recently... I'd say since 2008. Or should we perhaps see the specs of the project, for a peer review?
