He's probably what I'd have become, as a programmer, had I not worked in so many different places and gained the variety of experience. The other difference is that he believes in the dutch mantra of hard work... in the sense that it ain't work if it ain't hard, so he doesn't just sit and think things over, he goes and churns code over and over. Keeps adding features while endlessly delaying the refactoring. Has a talent for picking wrong (ambiguous, unintuitive, or just plain wrong) names for routines, tables and fields. Still, some kind of genius.
Technically, my boss on the Feds project at Firriver, mostly because I don't do much of framework stuff anymore, not under his rules, and because he knows the domain stuff of the app, all the abbreviations and medical terms and business rules, which I just can't get myself to learn. I'm not a fertologist.
We completely agree on American beer (it looks like beer, but...).
