Some kind of partners to Firriver, in that our databases should be exchanging data. Initially (2009-10) they would just pull the demographic data from us, daily, which wasn't frequent enough and led to duplicates, as the technicians would enter a patient in Feds, then see that it didn't appear automagically in their database, would enter it there as well (but without the registration number, or with a slightly different number - an extra zero on the left or so) and then overnight they would get another.

By 2013, we cooperated much better, I had a routine, LI which would push the data - not just demographics, but cycle as well - and it was being gradually rolled out to clinics.

Great chaps, though, good atmosphere on the calls, and it seems they are even more busy than we are. Looks like they are where we were five years ago.

The problem of slow writes (sometimes 90 to 120 seconds to write one patient) turned out to be their own fault, their cockamamie scheme would really take so much time to write each record, because they had an inline auditing scheme, where the current record would somehow become the previous record and the newly edited record would become a new record, and the part where the link between them would be maintained sometimes involved as much as 600.000 reads (!). They gave up on the scheme in some version around 2018, and replaced it with nothing at all. Suddenly it became blazingly fast.
