kum

Not exactly godfather because it's neither a godly nor fatherly relationship. Kum signs your marriage papers as first witness and/or gives names to your children. You are then also a kum to him. There's venčani kum (marriage type) and the other kind ("krstio me" - "baptized me"). This is more than best friends; the christians here say "bog pa kum" (god, then kum).
