The ugly dark gray box of a building across the crossing (*) from the community center here. The best place to sit is right inside, where it can't be seen. Relatively good pizza, new waitresses every two months, laško črno beer, playground for the kids inside, the owner is a cool guy. Often can't avoid having a screen wherever you sit, but recently it got better.
Over the years (2013 and later) it got more and more americanized, to the point when we once got a menu entirely in english. I have this crazy serbian streak that I'm not giving a dime to anything that discriminates against me, so I got up and left. Ever since then I'm not entering the place unless accompanying foreign citizens who speak english. Which still turns out to be a lot of times.
He literally saved our butts while Linda and Sanda were here, we spent countless hours with them there. Sometimes the kids' stay in the playroom was paid, sometimes not. That's how we got to know Vesna.
The story ended when, in the winter of 25/26 someone tossed a hand grenade („spooner“) into that glass cage he had on the lawn, which was a clear message that he's in someone's way. He closed the bar/rođendaonica and rent the space for a supermarket. He kept the green grocery shop on the adjacent corner, and the carwash/tyre retread behind it.
